The article only states that he was acquitted. Is that it, or are they gonna take it a step further. I know a while back we signed a petition for allowing the sale of raw milk. I wonder if it is going to go anywhere.

So, if I post an ad on kijiji looking for raw milk, will I get any flack , or on the other end, can I advertise raw milk now? I haven't even heard of this case.

I'm sure this is the guy that had a write up in an issue of Small Farm Canada, about the fact that he was trying to provide people with raw milk.

Judging from the article, it is still illegal to distribute, sell or offer raw milk to anyone... but it's not illegal to drink it...

It doesn't say anywhere that the laws are changing, just that this one guy got away with it by offering his 'cow-shares'

Good for him though! :thumbsup

In Colorado, if you want raw milk you have to buy a cow share. It is no way even close to being affordable for me so I do the next best thing. I use pasteurized (NOT ultra-pasteurized) heavy cream.

At least heavy cream isn't subjected to the homogenization process.

I have to say, I don't drink or use much milk since I don't have time to make cheese. I feel like I should go out and buy milk from my local farm that sells raw milk just to support him, though. Here in VT farms may sign up to be raw milk producers as long as they sell direct from the farm and they are limited how many gallons they can sell.

One of these days...

Which other folks could emulate. That's how I get my milk.

I should feel lucky living in my state then. I get my raw milk at a local corner store which is actually a hole in the wall. The dairy sells it through them and other small stores as well. It isn't even a health food store, but they do sell other local items such as grass fed beef and wild caught smoked salmon. They also sell beer and cig.s and candy too. :p
