So they look kinda hillbilly but they work! :D
It's been staying about 20-30 degrees warmer inside the frame than the outside temp during the day. Just added in the water jug painted black. Read somewhere that it's supposed to help keep the frame warmer throughout the night by slowly releasing it captured heat from the day. We'll see I guess!

And I'm not one much for following a plan so I just kind of got a rough estimate on how big the base should be and started digging. So of course it was too big :hu so we just added the emergency blankets to cover up the gaps. Oops! And its really windy up here right now so there's a bunch of small pieces of wood holding the sides down, adds to "the look" I think

Is there anything you guys have found with your cold frames that work better? Just trying to get ideas for our next one (or to make this one better!)

I saw this on MEN FB page today it looks pretty neat too.

She'll need to upload them, methinks, unless she's going to give us online access to her computer's harddrive. :D

Well crap. I tried to upload them but they won't work. I'm sure it couldn't be the operator ;)

You just go uploads, find the pic you want and load it right? I did this once before, you'd think I'd remember something!

The tiny one is just cause you copied the thumbnail version, rather then the full size.

They look good!
Might want to add black jugs all along the back to give an even heat distribution.

Simple is what we do best around here!!
Hmmmm....I'm kinda thinking broccoli and spinach right now. Do you usually start some inside too and then transplant? I'm really wanting to start some things inside too right now but I think I'm kinda jumping the gun
