Pallet projects and inventions

I've seen some really great things made from pallets, anything from chicken coops to planters to furniture. Let's see and hear about all your inventions and creations? I'm going to be on a bit of a budget once I moved and I want to play.

Saw this and thought it was a pretty cool space saving idea for small plants/raised beds:

i love these ideas:celebrate especially the herb one that has the black board paint on it:woot so the names are written below the plants that is just fantastic 10 stars for that idea :clap :thumbsup

I know this is an old thread, but maybe we can revive it. There are some great ideas on here! I have a whole pile of pallets sitting in our back yard just begging to be reused!

Meanwhile, we made raised beds out of old wood boxes that were used to ship wheels for Army humvees... the smaller boxes are getting painted. They were also used to ship wheels for Army vehicles. We're always looking for things that can be repurposed.

Sorry, I thought I added pictures but they didn't come up...

I love those planters! Did you treat the wood on the inside before you filled it?

We did not treat the big ones. We didn't even paint them. We just planted. We are thinking of treating the smaller ones or lining them to keep them from rotting. Neither of us really like the color we painted the first small box but the paint was a misprint and was really cheap. We're thinking of painting some with chalkboard paint so we can write on them.

Nice and the price of wood anything reclaimed, repurposed, etc. is a great idea. Of course that pretty much goes for anything.:thumbsup

"What do you use pallets for?" he asked me… I should show him this thread ;)
