I couldn't find it. I remember you made a jacket by sewing patches on a sweatshirt. I found the instructions in your journal, but the link no longer shows the picture of the jacket.

I found a sweatshirt on the road yesterday. It was there when I went to work and still there on my way back...sitting there, all alone, on the line in the middle of a rural road....so I stopped, leaned out and snagged it. It is a good quality hoodie, in great shape, with paint stains on the front. I'd love to make a jacket from it using your method....can you post the instructions and pictures here?

Please? Pretty please? :D

Hmmm...let me look! It was with her Easter dress.
I am in the middle of doing apples so it may be a while before I find what you are looking for.

Hmmm....doesn't look like I posted it to my blog.

I have seen it done two different ways.
The way I did it:
Cut off cuffs. NOT NECK!!!
Cut up from bottom seam on both sides all the way up to hands. It should lay flat at this point. It will be huge especially if it is an adults.
Take scraps and RANDOMLY sew them on! The less thought the better it comes out! Do not over think it! I used different color threads and different stitches too! The bolder your thread the better! The more sparkle the better!
Cover over the neck cuff thing too.
This will take a while!
Flip the collar down and sew it....like an inch or so down.
Put a new cuff on hands.
Sew up from the bottom to the hands and make it look like a jacket again.
Put a bottom cuff on (around waist band).
Cut a straight line up the middle front.
Put binding up the middle where you cut it open. There is a way to do it to put hair bands in that match to go over big buttons but that is really hard for me to explain but I will try. Do not cut the hair bands. Put them on the inside between the 5/8" piece and the sweatshirt and when you flip it over to put the binding on it should be on the outside.
I hope that all makes sense. It is REALLY EASY once you do it or if you see it done in person!

Hmm, thanks...I know I saw a picture at one point. Maybe there was a link to some instructions with a picture of something similar?

I have a bunch of upholstery fabric samples from small sample books that would be perfect for this. No two are alike, and it is good quality cotton fabric. Already cut into rectangles!

I just edited and added that picture. It was not on there before. Let me know if you don't understand something
