    Finally managed to get my hands on some Easter egger chicks to replace my elderly layers. Everything here is raised by silkies. Mom said it looked like a feather duster with a beak taking care of the chicks

    I used to hang a feather duster in the brooder for the chicks to crawl under. They loved it! Silkies are just perfect moms with those fluffy feathers of theirs.
