A local guy here raises all kinds of critters... Guinea pigs being one of the species. His are literally free-range. He'd toss a bale of straw or hay into the one horse stall (no horses in that stall) and that's where they'd go when it got cold. Neat, neat little critters. I always hated them until I saw his free-range ones, then I started having a better appreciation for the tough little buggers.

wow I couldn't raise guinea pigs to eat.

if starving, oh yea I would put one on a stick over a fire, but thank goodness I sure am not in that position.

I do like the brains of making lemonade from lemons. if you can capitalize when times are bad and make a living, go for it. If you can use something not being used to improve your lifestyle thru hard work and ingenuity, go for it.

it is the ones that won't lift a finger to help themselves or provide for their existence is what kills me to no end. Anyone willing to work hard, change and adapt when needed get a thumbs up in my book :p
