Cold is on the Right, Hot is on The Left
Yesterday the kiddos, E, and I were outside spending some extra time with the chickens. The kids all had to have their picture taken with one of their chickens.
I was happy to oblige them!
DD with a Buff Brahma pullet...this chick is offspring from her first pair of Brahmas, Eric and Greta. She named this chick Jetta.
DS1 with his Quail Anterp d'Anver Hen named Fran.
DS2 with his Black Tailed Buff Japanese cockerel, named Pepper (he subsequently named the two BTB Jap pullets Salt and Bread).
DS3 with his Rhode Island Red pullet, named Lollipop. This was his $2 chick from Meyers at the end of July when we picked up our Guineas. He had a whole $2 of his own money to spend, so he asked if they had any $2 chicks
Charlotte, the Meyer's employee, grabbed him a RIR pullet.
He was so thrilled!
And here's Baby Boy, buried in a pile of leaves!
I snapped this of my Blue Mottled d'Uccle cockerel yesterday, too. His stance was just perfect, and I think it's a beautiful picture of him. (I also think I need to enlarge it, frame it, and hang it on my wall!

I did get two more posts in, so it's progress. Ideally, I would like to have it done by the end of this week, but looks like I'm probably going to have just one side done and work on the other side next week.
If she's here much longer, she might just become our first homegrown turkey day dinner.
She has NO sense of boundaries. She eats all the feed I put down for her and Lance (he gets some, too) and then she figures out ways to get into all of the other chicken pens and eats theirs, too. Today I caught her in the duck pen and boy did she tick of Gary the Mallard duck!! He was chasing her around the pen after she chased one of his girls. Kind of funny, but frustrating.
Finally get her out and Lance comes after me after she screamed her fool head off.
