Wow, I just caught up with your journal.....wow. You go, Aly! You are a great mom and are raising a wonderful daughter. The impact on her life of this awful event will be so much less since you and your dh took care of business. You are teaching her to be strong. Great work!
Having a family like y'all will go a long way to helping her deal with what happened. Not getting screwed up by that lawyer tells me she is a very smart kid. They love to try to twist stuff. Good luck with the rest of the court stuff.
I wish we were all closer to you to give you and your family actual hugs, not cyber ones.
I'm so sorry for your family, but sorry won't change anything so I've decided to put that feeling behind and be more proud of you all. The sad fact is this happens more than anyone realizes and very few have the courage to come forward. Tell your wonderful DD that she isn't getting justice for herself, she's getting justice for those who feel they cannot come forward.
And as far as reading the transcripts - sometimes you don't need to know the whole story. If your daughter wants you to know...she'll tell you herself or tell you it's OK to read it. Other than that just be there for her and help her heal as you have been the entire time.
Since I can't give you a real hug, this will have to do
