Quail_Antwerp: Words from the Barnyard...

Here's my River Girl. :) She's what they call a Champagne Ferret.

He looks close to the computer. Is he on a "ferret forum"?

They're all adorable.

Gotta admit, those fellers are cute!!! If they weren't so closely related to the weasel family.....how do they act around your chickens? Or do they not get acquainted, as one group is inside, the other out?

How cute! I don't think I've ever seen ferrets this close.
They sure seem playful. I bet they keep you busy.
Might be a silly question, but do they have the run of the house?

Actually, yes, I belong to several ferret forums and I was chatting with a friend who runs a ferret shelter when I took those pics.

Uh oh! Is Meeko and River going to make babies????
Nope, no baby making here. Everyone is fixed and descented, as they are all Marshalls (except Mocha who is a Triple F Farm Ferret) meaning they are all neutered/spayed and descented as kits.

Well, I took Kodo for a walk yesterday out by the chickens, and he was freaked out and THEY were freaked out, so no more walking by the chickens. He ran around the house with a bottle brush tail for hours after that. The chickens were clucking warnings that I'd NEVER heard before! They literally all stood in a line watching his every move and completely ignored the treats I had thrown to them!!

Yes and no. They sleep in their cages at night, which I have 2 right now, 4 in one huge cage and 2 in another cage...and then they get several hours of supervised out of cage time. There are certain areas of the house I cannot let them into for their own safety. Otherwise, they could possibly get hurt or slip outside.

Ok, so I might as well introduce ya'll to fuzzy number 8!

This is Izzy B, and we are hoping to be adopting her soon!

She's only about 8 months old, so she would be the baby of the family. :D
