Quail_Antwerp: Words from the Barnyard...

So today my mom goes into the local feedstore to place her monthly feed order and same employee who was rude to me tells my mom that I sold them dirty eggs!

I've only been going in on Saturdays to pay on my bill and the owner was buying eggs from me to sell and he was taking it off my bill. I took five dozen this last Saturday and I showed ALL five dozen to him before he bought them. He bought them, took them off my bill, plus I gave him cash towards the remaining balance, told him I'd be back in a week to pay off the remainder.

He told me that the lady I had an issue with doesn't work Saturdays, so I've only been going in on Saturdays to pay on my bill so as to avoid her. She told my mom today that she is now going to be working every Saturdays.

She also told my mom she will no longer allow me to post my chicks for sale signs on their bulletin board.

I'm so mad I just want to cry.

I called down there to talk to Donna and I didn't get two words out when she hung up on me! I guess it's ok for her to yell at people and cuss them out, but not ok for people to fuss at her.

WOW!! I would stay as far away from that store as I can!!! :hugs

Is the owner really clear on what his employee is doing? He needs the details. If he has them, sheesh, what an amazing jerk and I can't believe he is still in business!

It may take a while - but eventually it will catch up to them.

Just pay off that bill ASAP and get outa dodge!

Wow, someone is a real !@#$%, to put it nicely. Sounds like she needs to learn some manners.

The owner was standing right there today when she rattled off to my mother about it.

I'm doing that this weekend. I dread it because I know she will be in there ready to run her mouth, but I will be calm and cool and I'll try my best to tell her, "I'm just here to pay my bill. Keep your mouth shut, give me my reciept, and I'll never darken this door again."

Maybe owning a feed store is in your future.......
We have seriously been talking about it, but we don't want his store, even though he wants to sell it, because the building it is in is only rented. Dh and I are eyeballing a former feed store in the town next to us (5 miles from this feedstore but only 3 miles from our home) that has been sitting vacant and empty for years and the building is only valued at $7K and we already have all the tax and property owners info.....

I don't blame you for not wanting that store - the owner and the staff have chased away too many customers. Sometimes even new ownership won't take the bad feelings away...

But the other place .... now that is a real possibility!

The major problem with starting a new business is time and second is money.

Do you have the time to spare? Will you have enough money to stock the store and operate it for several months ... without counting on sales? There are small business grants and loans out there. Maybe you COULD work it out!
