Quickie updates, mostly because I'm lazy.
- Layla, after 3 days of refusing milk, suddenly decided to take the bottle, and has been doing great! Still eating hay, grass, and drinking water but taking 2 bottles of milk a day.
- had a great visit with keljonma on the 14th. She nearly ruined my b-day surprise for E, as she thought his surprise party was April 14 instead of May 14! LOL Good thing we straightened that out before he was aware!
- Friday went to Rogers Flea Market, because we were hired by two Amish to take them up so they could set up and sell some stuff. So E and I got to walk around and look at all the vendors. We didn't stay for Auction though.
- came home and found a PEARL COCKATIEL in my Pilgrim Goose Run!! Now, this kind of gets funny - kind of.
I could NOT catch that bird, and I had a customer coming to buy my sebbies any moment. The one time I did get my hands on him (or her?) it bit me! So there I was, debating, to I yank my sweatshirt off to catch it and chase this thing around wearing only a bra for a top, risk customers see a semi-nude fat gal, or run to the house for a blanket and risk the bird getting a way???
Thankfully, I looked up and there was DD, so I sent her off for a blanket or towel or something. She was back in record minutes with a blanket, so we caught the bird and, well, wouldn't you know, it's actually tame????!!!!! It especially loves E!
- sold the Sebbies, and found out that customer had Royal Palm turkey poults available.
- Saturday made quickie trip to Cambridge and new home of Sebbies to pick up Turkey poults....Left with 7 RP Poults, a pair of Button Quail, and 8 Ducklings. How'd that happen????
- Pilgrim Goose is setting, finally!!
- had two blue laced red wyandotte chicks hatch, and while their color is just awesome, one had a single comb. Drat, my first reason to cull a chick! He will probably be going to a new home on Saturday, as I already have an interested customer.
- My neighbor had 3 holstein steers show up at her house on Saturday. They called the sheriffs department. No one has reported them missing, no one has shown up to claim them, and they went to all the neighbors. They are keeping them for a time frame, and then the sheriff said if they aren't claimed, they can keep them.
On Saturday this friend had asked me if I would trade my new cockatiel for one of hers, because we think the one I found might be a girl and both of hers are boys that will rip your hand off as soon as look at you. I said no. She offered me $10, I said no. She offered to let me have first pick of any babies that might result, I said no.
More to come...time for Story hour show and tell...
