Are you all worn out from your exciting week-end??? :D
Yes!!! I'm thinking I want to get a shower and go to bed...........

I only had 4.5 hours of sleep Friday night going into Mt. Hope Saturday morning  Then last night, went to bed at 10, but had middle of the night potty break (consequences of my current condition, ya know lol) and somehow I ended up on E's side of the bed and him on mine.

wow. I thought you were getting rid chickens.....:lau
Not likely!
Well, it is SUPER HARD to get out of something when you have a friend more than willing to enable you by saying something like, "Do you want my flock of Sussex? How about the Buff Orps?"

OR...

"I've got large fowl Salmon Faverolles going to the hatcher tomorrow. Got them off an egg swap on BYC. I thought 'Aly's working with those, so she could get them'."

Yep, with a good friend like that, it's near impossible to get RID of them :gig

I'll also say half the problem was being snowed into the house, feeling cooped in and tied down - I was having my mid-life crisis!! :lau

Going out to visit with the bees!! :D

You guys are too cute....you would have passed out if you could have seen me installing both my nucs into their hives Saturday. I don't own a bee suit or a veil so I went au natural. I also don't own a smoker. :P We sprayed everyone with sugar water and let it roll. My husband ran away like his butt was on fire!!!

I wear blue jeans tucked into rubber boots and a long sleeved white shirt tucked into the jeans. I may get some blue nitrile gloves to pull over my sleeves to keep the bees from going up them.

It was really fun to see how they work. You'll get used to them....you really don't need a suit, just a thick pair of jeans and a thick white shirt....you could get away with just the veil. :D

Lori, you may want to rethink the "no veil" issue when you harvest honey. Bees get really cranky when you are robbing their pantry. :D

Ok, here's the pics from setting up my bees yesterday!!

Here's the "temp" set up!

The pics turned out well. I thought you would have zoomed in on the cluster on the nuc top. :D

Next time you WILL work the hive!

How cool! Congratulations on your new additions, the pictures are great. I am impatiently waiting for mine.
