Good luck!! Nothing wrong with cleaning house. That is one of the ways I made money in college.
Yeah, I'm excited about the possibility of working. We've been looking since October. It's been horrible, but both of us have seemed to of found something at the same time. Hopefully both work out.

what job did you apply for? just wondering.

a few friends of mine took side jobs cleaning banks and business on weekends. they did quite well in that work. and if you get enough houses, you surely can have good money happening. thank goodness some are doing good out there to be able to afford services like this!

fingers crossed for you on that job!

Nothing wrong at all with it! My Ex-Step-MIL (That's always a mouthful) ran her own cleaning service in Hot Springs, AR.

She started by cleaning a few houses part time for a maid service. She got laid off at some point, but some of her customers wanted HER, not the company she worked for.

Word got around, she got a few more houses, then a couple of business contracts and before she could blink, she had 16 women working for her and a lucrative business that has since allowed her to retire extra early (she's only 48) with a boat & two very large, very nice houses, one on Lake Catherine, one on Hamilton.

:thumbsup on the positive interview! :fl

WOW noobie, great business story! Great for her! I love the retire early part--lucky lady!!!

It was at a cleaning service that's a town over. They do residential, high end, houses. It'll be nice, but will be a lot of driving. Plus we'll work on teams so I can have help if i need it! Like if the vacuum falls on me and I am slowly being crushed, the other person can save me!

I wish! Hopefully it goes that well for me. I'm a big goof though, so it might not. We'll see. It would be lovely though.

Well, she's been around the other cats for a little while, and they are slowly, but surly getting use to her. One of them will even tolerate her being right next to him! On the other hand, yesterday was a bad cat day. Loki, one of our boys, does not like her. He throws a fit whenever she is around. However he's getting better because we pet him and comfort him a lot. I don't know if they will ever be friends, but it's getting better.

The boys are having their own issues such as Loki being dominated all the time. :barnie

We've had to get the spray bottle after Typhon because of that crap. I know it's just something cats do, but it's getting ridiculous. Loki can't even walk anywhere without Typhon doing that to him. So, the spray bottle has helped a lot on that.

It's getting easier everyday though. No kitty show down yet!

When my D1 introduced her new blind cat Bumper to the posse there was some posturing going on there as well. Bumper however is, quite literally, blind to that sort of showing off. After a while the other cats just give up and let him be. Her last story about the quest for dominance had me rolling on the floor.

It seems the 16 pound solid muscle red tabby barn cat Jack decided to go to to toe with 17 pound fat blind black tuxedo cat Bumper. Jack flexed all his muscles and got eye to wide open unseeing eye - then gave his most horrible growl and hiss. Bumper took a deep smell, trying to identify the unknown assailant and the sneezed right in Jack's surprised snarling face. Jack went away to clean off the assault in disgust! :lau :gig

Cats are too funny!

That is pretty funny. :D

Typhon, the dominant boy, will walk up to her sniff and then run away like he is embarrassed. It's so cute. If you've ever seen a shy boy try to flirt with a pretty girl, that's exactly what it makes me think of. She's a baby, but she's still a girl. ;)

My two black ones were the first cats I've ever had and I must say, they are the funniest critters I have ever been around. They have fascinations with open books (anti-literacy campaign), plastic bags, and licking water off the bottom of the tub. What's not to love?

My sister used to have a Maine Coon cat that would run clear across the room at full speed to dive into an opened bread sack! What is it with cats and plastic bags? Don't they bother to read the "this is not a toy" warnings?
