So, ive had a rash for the last few YEARS. And my OB/Doc has kinda brushed it off everytime i bring it up. She just says, Oh, you do such physical work, its just from alot of sweating and your skin doesnt breathe enough. Okay, so ive done everything to get rid of it. And i DONT think she's right. It itchs like i want to scratch my skin off. I itch it until it hurts so bad i cant stand it anymore, but i still itch it cuz i HAVE TOO!!! (i know it shouldnt itch it, but i cant help myself...) Anyways, ive tried, baby powder, lots of different lotions, creams, hydrocortizone cream, letting my skin breathe more, etc. Nothing is working and im soooo sick of itching and hurting. Are there any herbal remedies or anything anyone can think of that would help a rash??? Maybe some natural butter, oil, something??? Ill try anything at this point to stop the itch and actually heal my poor skin. Thank you!!!

Is it possible that you have eczema?

In any case, for any skin problems, I always recommend something with calendula in it. Works wonders for skin irritations.

I would INSIST your doc send you to a dermatologist. having an itch that does not go away, can send someone to the looney bin.

Oatmeal in a sock. put a cup of oatmea or so in a sock, tie off the sock, soak in water until it is goey and use it to 'wash' the rash. Don't rinse.

Have you tried cornstarch? Is the rash in your private area?..That would be trickier to treat. Galding is like a rash...where warm moist skin touches other warm moist skin. I also use Desitin, from the baby department. Or, sitz baths with some Epsom Salts. And, itching can be helped with anti-histimines. An allergy pill might relieve the itching..or some Benadryl.

That thought had occurred to me too..a fungal rash. Pre-diabetic? I know that can mess up your sugar levels and cause conditions.

yes, it is in the private area. I thought it was a fungal thing too, so i tried those like anti-fungal creams. That didnt seem to do anything. My doctor thought it was at one point a bad yeast problem, so i was on Diflucan for 3 weeks, that didnt do anything. Ive tried Burt Bees diaper cream ointment, that didnt work, Calunda cream, baby powder seemed to help dry it out a bit, but the itch was still pretty significant. I have slept without anything on for the past year (which gets pretty cold in winter, Not to mention hubby thinks this is an open invitation!!! haha) which has helped a little bit. (by the way, i dont have any STD's or anything. That was all tested when we had our Infertility workups)

Yes, the itching will send you to the looney bin. Its so bad sometimes and other times i will go for days and it will be fine and then Bamm, it will be bad again. Its not exactly the most comfortable thing to talk about or to "show" a doctor other than my Midwife, whom is an excellent lady. So, im not sure where to go from here.

I did have ecema when i was a little girl, and have terribly dry skin all the time. (year round) but i didnt think excema was suppose to itch that bad. And its only in a localized area, not all over.

Gosh, i hope im not pre-diabetic. Im only 28 and have a healthy lifestyle (well, except for my Mt. Dew habit.... Down to One can a day tho...) I am a healthy weight and BMI too. My grandpa has diabetes, but other than that no one else in my family does. -rach

Maybe ill try some anti-histimine, but it would be nice to actually get RID of this problem, instead of just treat the symptoms. Ill have to look on the internet for some dermatologist specialists in WI. -Rach
