Really?!

I'm watching TV in air conditioning this afternoon! :lol but what I'm noticing is the food ads have a common theme:

Healthy food tastes bad.



I'm shocked! Or should I be... ?

Some healthy food really DOES taste bad.

I refuse to eat whole wheat bread, tempeh is pretty awful and I would rather shoot my own foot than eat turnip greens.

But, I see what you're saying. Putting down healthy food to promote junk makes it that much harder to get some people to see that what they are eating is killing them.

I concur,
nothing but pasty white bread and bacon flavored ice cream for me, and by judging the line of cars circling the drive-thru fat in the box restaurants believe the other 300 million Americans agree too.

What?????????????? Not turnip greens. I would die without them. Turnip, mustard, collard. All those greens are sooooooo good.

I was at a party yesterday. I watched a teenage boy, chubby, with nasty acne, wander by the food table, look at the salads, sliced watermelon, burgers and dogs. He grabbed a white hot dog bun and stuffed it into his mouth whole, as he grabbed a second one and walked away.
I had to bite my tongue and sit on my hands to keep from smacking him and giving him a lecture.

in the fast food commercials and others I never saw the commercials put down healthy foods or ever say they taste bad

except the V8 commercials lol they say drink ur veggies cause ya give the broccoli to the dog haha

commercials I see promote their product but I haven't seen them saying healthy foods are bad

BUT they sure can promote those lousey foods cause they got the funds----as a farmer I can't afford tv time to promote my fresh taters lol


and there are more fake boxed, froze and canned foods I hate way more than the fresh veggie or fruit products lol

Yeah - the V8 one with the green beans and the dog was the second one I saw. But there are the Cheerios and FiberOne commericals too!

When on vacation earlier this summer I saw several ads PROMOTING high fructose corn syrup. The ads went like .."Oh my did you know that ___ has High fructose corn syrup!" The other person says, "So what?" The first person says, "Don't you know that high fructose corn syrup is bad?" Then the other person quizzes them as to why and of course the first person has no idea. The commercial finishes with a lecture on how HFCS is the same as sugar and SO good for you!

ACK!!

Then again ... I guess we wouldn't be seeing commercials like that if we were not making a difference!
