My new little pug with the bug eyes, who I love very much already, has very bad breath. Is there anything similar to a cookie (or more like a breat mint HA!) that I can make for her to much on? Her teeth really are not that bad. her gums look fine. She just has stanky breath!! I know parsley is a breath freshener..... Anyone have any recipes? :D I did buy denta stiks, but have you seen the ingredients in those? trisodium phosphate sticks in my mind. :/

And here I thought you wanted a recipe for cooking dogs. :hide

My dogs like mint flavored things to chew. Toss in some mint next time you make some doggy biscuits.

For our pug, it helps if we can prevent her from eating the chicken poo in the yard. :sick

I'll be following this with interest :caf

You *MUST* tell me your secret!

The lab vacuums up my hubbys house rabbits poo too. She doesn't know how to use a litter box, but good thing we have the lab-vacuum.

Bad breath usually originates in the tummy ;)

and yes, the title tickled me a bit too

I've heard also they can have mints. Need to give my female JR some! Both of my dogs have the same diet, both are healthy, both have great teeth and gums, but her breath is foul! And she is the kisser of the two :sick Yuck!

Between the pug eating the chicken poo and the JR/Beagle mix eating mice (and the results from each end of the dog for those activities), we have nights where we have a lot of candles lit.

We have no secret, we just have to watch them like a hawk if they're outside for longer than a quick potty break and just deal with it - I'm not getting rid of my chickens or not letting them free range because the pug enjoys a snack now and then. :D

I saw my female JR, Dixie, chewing on something out in the yard this afternoon, looked like a stick, but she was enjoying it way too much. Went out to see what it was.... snake jerky! :D No wonder her breath stinks!

We got a new (old) teacup poodle for my daughter's recovery. (It once belonged to a dear friend who died of brain cancer..the pup got tossed around and we ended up with her.)

ANYWAY...she had the worst breath! We put her on a no grain, (low carb) kibble and her bad breath went away. It took some time though. The tear stains went away too.
