Seedsaving: what seeds are you saving?

So far I have garlic chives, regular chives and black plum roma tomatoes.

How about you?

Amish Paste tomatoes, blackeye peas, green beans, and cucumbers, all heirloom varieties.

Tomatoes, squash, cucumber, butternut squash, lettuce, asparagus, broccoli, mustard greens. I have already gathered most of these up except the tomatoes. Collecting seed is my favorite part of the harvest.

So far mostly pole beans for me. I plan to save some corn, lettuce, all squash and tomatoes of course.

With our summer being so late around here, I'm still waiting for the heirloom corn & tomatoes to ripen.

biannuals.....carrots-probably never again to save seeds from....this is the second time I've tried & only gotten white roots :/
parsnips-this will be my first attempt at saving seeds. I've already harvested the seeds & will be planting them next week so we'll see what happens.
cabbage-worked great, I've harvested one good head and have several others coming along....from saved seed last year and will leave some for next year.
onions--this is my first time for saving seeds from onions & I have my doubts since I've never been able to grow onions from seed before, but do great with sets.


grains.......wheat---once again only got about a handful. Other than DS10 weedeating my main patch there were several growing from what the chickens missed. This is the second year I've grown grains & the wheat grows well and as it starts to ripen (heads turning golden brown) the heads 'disappear' before I can harvest it. Last year I thought wild birds got it, but now I'm not so sure
barley & rye ---last year when I saved the seed heads I inadvertantly mixed em together & fed most of it to the chickens. Luckily this spring I did find a small stash to plant I just wasn't sure which one was which until it grew heads on it. This year I'm keeping them seperate & labeled!
oats---once again, it's outdone itself. Now I just have to seperate the grain seed from the plant material

veggies......broccoli, lettuce, radishes, zucchini, navy beans, pole green beans, any shelling & sugar peas the rats didn't get hot & sweet peppers, and BOSS


I didn't plant any dill or cilantro this year but I usually save seed from these too. Oh and cucumbers too-I had planted several times & finally gave up on it.....maybe next year.

Have zukes, plums (will give them another try, bought some native plums at a farm stand), and a cuke to save seeds from. Am watching a second year parsley and will also save dill, basil, and Indian corn. I let my scallions reseed themselves and keep the patch going. There will be more, but that is what I can think of so far. Oh, yeah, I let the cilantro reseed, too.

I have an assortment of beans and squash seeds, but whether they'll be true, I don't know, as the veg were gifted to us from another guys garden. Also, some random flower seeds, which won't really do my any good as far as food goes.

You can feed bees with them.

assorted varieties of canaloupe seeds, ( hales best, Rocky Ford, Israli), 3 varities of heirloom peas, tomatoes and winter squash..
