Our sheep (three, naturally polled) arrive on Saturday, do you think this feeder we made today will be fine for them. To buy one new was in the hundred dollar range so we used recycled materials and spent less than 5.00. Comments for improvement or if it's fine as we have never had sheep before. :D I am planning on adding a hinged lid to the top already. It measures 3 feet wide by 2 deep and around 3.5 feet tall. TIA

I don't know what everyone else thinks but I think it's simply wonderful and I'm going to steal some of your design for my existing feeder! :D I don't know how aggressive your sheeples are but mine would probably topple your feeder by climbing around on it. If I build one similar I might spread the base a little wider to try to prevent tipping.

:thumbsup

Thanks, I thought of that but did not have a wider sheet of plywood scrap for the base, so I thought I would chain it secure to the corral panels??? I think they are a pretty docile breed, they are ST. Croix Hairsheep. Do you have a picture of your feeder for me to see? :D

Not right now, but I'll try to later. Mine is attached to the shed and is not nearly as nice as your design. I have St. Croix/Katahdin cross sheep and they are normally pretty docile.....til it comes to food! :D

I will post them on Saturday when they arrive, I am so excited to get them, even more so than the kids.

I love your hay feeder. I would say see what happens and fix as it comes up. With the animals, things change all the time anyway. :)

I'm drooling here, that is really nice! My sheep get to eat out of a crude trough made out of cinderblocks. :/ I too will probably swipe your idea!

if you have kids they squish easy when something falls on them
