Should I take a class? How did you get started in woodworking?

I think if you do not know anyone who can teach you, a woodworking class can be a great way to learn. If you are just wanting to tackle small projects, you might be able to teach yourself, just make sure you know what you are doing when it comes to power tools. Safety first!

I have not taken any classes, I learned a little bit of woodworking from my relatives. Sometimes classes are a great idea, it all depends on what kind of learner you are.

Been making sawdust for over 40 years. Like Buster says FINGERS are a necessity so, what ever road you take, ALWAYS KNOW where your fingers are in relation to the blade. Doesn't matter if it's a Power Tool or a hand tool. You gotta be aware of the path the tool will take and ensure that your appendages will never be in that path!!!! Learning from a Master Craftsman, IMHO, is the best way. Finding one willing to "Pay It Forward" can be a challenge. Glad you found one. Best of Luck and Keep wigglin those fingers!!!
