"The Chain of Love"
by Jonnie Barnett & Rory Lee

He was driving home one evening,
In his beat up Pontiac
When an old lady flagged him down,
Her Mercedes had a flat
He could see that she was frightened, Standing out there in the snow
'Til he said I'm here to help you ma'am,
By the way my name is Joe

She said I'm from St. Louis,
And I'm only passing through
I must have seen a hundred cars go by,
This is awful nice of you
When he changed the tire,
And closed her trunk
And was about to drive away,
She said how much do I owe you
Here's what he had to say

You don't owe me a thing,
I've been there too
Someone once helped me out,
Just the way I'm helping you
If you really want to pay me back,
Here's what you do
Don't let the chain of love end with you

Well a few miles down the road,
The lady saw a small cafe
She went in to grab a bite to eat,
And then be on her way
But she couldn't help but notice,
How the waitress smiled so sweet
And how she must've been eight months along,
And dead on her feet

And though she didn't know her story,
And she probably never will
When the waitress went to get her change, From a hundred dollar bill
The lady slipped right out the door,
And on a napkin left a note
There were tears in the waitress's eyes,
When she read what she wrote

You don't owe me a thing,
I've been there too
Someone once helped me out,
Just the way I'm helping you
If you really want to pay me back,
Here's what you do
Don't let the chain of love end with you.

That night when she got home from work,
The waitress climbed into bed
She was thinkin' about the money,
And what the lady's note had said
As her husband lay there sleeping,
She whispered soft and low
Everything's gonna be alright,
I love you, Joe

Jesus, Take the Wheel
(James/Lindsey/Sampson)

She was driving last Friday on her way to Cincinnati
On a snow white Christmas Eve
Going home to see her Mama and her Daddy with the baby in the backseat
Fifty miles to go and she was running low on faith and gasoline
It'd been a long hard year
She had a lot on her mind and she didn't pay attention
she was going way too fast
Before she knew it she was spinning on a thin black sheet of glass
She saw both their lives flash before her eyes
She didn't even have time to cry
She was sooo scared
She threw her hands up in the air

Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can't do this on my own
I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
Save me from this road I'm on
Jesus take the wheel

It was still getting colder when she made it to the shoulder
And the car came to a stop
She cried when she saw that baby in the backseat sleeping like a rock
And for the first time in a long time
She bowed her head to pray
She said I'm sorry for the way
I've been living my life
I know I've got to change
So from now on tonight

Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can't do this on my own
I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
Save me from this road I'm on

Ooh, Jesus take the wheel
Ooh, I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
Save me from this road I'm on
From this road I'm on
Jesus take the wheel
Ooh, take it, take it from me
Ooh ooh wah ah ooh ooh ooh

I won't take less than your love

How Much Do I Owe You? Said The Husband To His Wife,
for Standing Beside Me Through The Hard Years Of My Life.
shall I Bring You Diamonds, Shall I Buy You Furs?
say The Word And It's Yours.
and His Wife Said: I Won't Take Less Than Your Love, Sweet Love.
no, I Won't Take Less Than Your Love.
all The Riches Of The World Could Never Be Enough,
and I Won't Take Less Than Your Love.

how Much Do I Owe You? To The Mother Said The Son.
for All That You Have Taught Me In The Days That I Was Young.
shall I Bring Expensive Blankets To Cast Upon Your Bed?
and A Pillow For To Rest Your Weary Head.

and The Mother Said: I Won't Take Less Than Your Love, Sweet Love.
no, I Won't Take Less Than Your Love.
all The Comforts Of The World Could Never Be Enough,
and I Won't Take Less Than Your Love.

how Much Do I Owe You? Said The Man To His Lord.
for Giving Me This Day And Every Day That's Gone Before.
shall I Build A Temple, Shall I Make A Sacrifice?
tell Me Lord And I Will Pay The Price.

and The Lord Said: I Won't Take Less Than Your Love, Sweet Love.
no, I Won't Take Less Than Your Love.
all The Treasures Of The World Could Never Be Enough,
and I Won't Take Less Than Your Love.

i Won't Take Less Than Your Love, Sweet Love.
no, I Won't Take Less Than Your Love.
all The Treasures Of The World Could Never Be Enough,
and I Won't Take Less Than Your Love.

no, I Won't Take Less Than Your Love.

Marty Robbins - The Master's Call

When I was but a young man I was wild and full of fire
A youth within my teens, but full of challenge and desire
I ran away from home and left my mother and my dad
I know it grieved them so to think their only boy was bad.

I fell in with an outlaw band, their names were known quite well
How many times we robbed and plundered, I could never tell
This kind of sinful living leads only to a fall
I learned that much and more the night I heard my Master call.

One night we rustled cattle, a thousand head or so
And started them out on the trail that leads to Mexico
But a norther started blowing and lightning flashed about
I thought someone was calling me, I thought I heard a shout.

Then at that moment lightning struck not twenty yards from me
And left there was a giant cross where once there was a tree
And this time I knew I heard a voice, a voice so sweet and strange
A voice that came from everywhere, a voice that called my name.

So frightened I was thinking of sinful deeds I'd done
I failed to see the thousand head of cattle start to run
The cattle they stampeded, were running all around
My pony ran but stumbled and it threw me to the ground.

I felt the end was near, that death would be the price
When a mighty bolt of lightning showed the face of Jesus Christ
And I cried oh Lord forgive me, don't let it happen now
I want to live for you alone, Oh God these words I vow.

My wicked past unfolded, I thought of wasted years
When another bolt of lightning killed a hundred head of steers
And the others rushed on by me and I was left to live
The Master had a reason, life is his to take or give.

A miracle performed that night, I wasn't meant to die
The dead ones formed a barricade least six or seven high
And right behind it there was I, afraid but safe and sound
I cried and begged for mercy kneeling there upon the ground.

A pardon I was granted, my sinful soul set free
No more to fear the angry waves upon life's stormy sea
Forgiven by the love of God, a love that will remain
I gave my life and soul the night the Saviour called my name...

When I was a little bitty boy
Just up off a floor
We used to go down to Grandma's house
Every month end or so
We'd have chicken pie and country ham
'n' homemade butter on the bread
But the best darn thing about Grandma's house
Was her great big feather bed

It was nine feet high and six feet wide
Soft as a downy chick
It was made from the feathers of forty 'leven geese
Took a whole bolt of cloth for the tick
It'd hold eight kids 'n' four hound dogs
And a piggy we stole from the shed
We didn't get much sleep but we had a lot of fun
On Grandma's feather bed

After the supper we'd sit around the fire
The old folks'd spit and chew
Pa would talk about the farm and the war
And Granny'd sing a ballad or two
I'd sit and listen and watch the fire
Till the cobwebs filled my head
Next thing I knew Id wake up in the mornin'
In the middle of the old feather bed

It was nine feet high and six feet wide
Soft as a downy chick
It was made from the feathers of forty'leven geese
Took a whole bolt of cloth for the tick
It'd hold eight kids 'n' four hound dogs
And a piggy we stole from the shed
We didn't get much sleep but we had a lot of fun
On Grandma's feather bed

Well I love my Ma, I love my Pa
I Love Granny and Grandpa too
I Been fishing with my uncle, I rassled with my cousin
I even kissed Aunt Lou eww!
But if ever had to make a choice
I guess it ought to be said
That I'd trade them all plus the gal down the road
For Grandma's feather bed
Yes I'd trade them all plus the gal down the road

**(whispered section)** Well, maybe I'll reconsider about the gal down the road.

For Grandma's feather bed

It was nine feet high and six feet wide
Soft as a downy chick
It was made from the feathers of forty'leven geese
Took a whole bolt of cloth for the tick
It'd hold eight kids 'n' four hound dogs
And a piggy we stole from the shed
We didn't get much sleep but we had a lot of fun
On Grandma's feather bed
We didn't get much sleep but we had a lot of fun
On Grandma's feather bed

The sound of your footsteps
Telling me that you're near
Your soft gentle motion, baby
Brings out the need in me that no-one can hear, except

In my midnight confessions
When I tell all the world that I love you
In my midnight confessions
When I say all the things that I want to
I love you

But a little gold ring you wear on your hand makes me understand
There's another before me, you'll never be mine
I'm wasting my time

Staggering through the daytime
Your image on my mind
Passing so close beside you baby
Sometimes the feelings are so hard to hide, except

In my midnight confessions
When I tell all the world that I love you
In my midnight confessions
When I say all the things that I want to
I love you

But a little gold ring you wear on your hand makes me understand
There's another before me, you'll never be mine
I'm wasting my time

In my midnight confessions
When I tell all the world that I love you
Na na-nana na na na-na
Na na-nana na na na-na

Mississippi Squirrel Revival

Well when I was a kid I would take a trip
every Summer down to "Mississipp," to visit
my Granny and 'er "Auntie Belluam World."
I'd run barefooted all-day long, climbing
trees free as a song; One day I happened
to catch myself a squirrel.
Well I stuffed him down
in an old shoe box, and punched a couple
holes in the top; When Sunday came I snuck em'
in the Church. I sittin' way back on the very
last pew showin em' to my good buddy Hugh,
when that squirrel got loose and went totally
buzzerk.
Well what happened next is hard to tell;
some thought it was Heaven others thought
it was Hell, but the fact that something was
among was plain to see.
As the choir sang " I Surrender All", the
squirrel ran up Harv Newman's coveralls, and
Harv leaped to his feet and said something's got
a hold on me yeeeooow!

CHORUS

The day the squirrel went buzzerk in the
First Self-Righteous Church in that sleepy little
town of Pascagoula. It was a fight for survival
that broke out in revival. They were jumpin' pews
and shoutin' "Hallelujah".

VERSE 2

Well Harv hit the aisles dancin' and screamin'.
Some thought he had Religion others thought
he had a demon, and Harv thought he had a
weed-eater loose in his fruit-of-the-looms.
He fell to his knees to plead and beg, and the
squirrel ran out of his britchy-leg; unobserved
to the otherside of the room.
All the way down to the AMEN pew, where sat
"Sister Bertha Better-than-You", who had been
watching all of the commotion with sufistic glee.
But shoot, you should have seen the look in her eyes
when that squirrel jumped her garders and crossed her
thighs. And she jumped to her feet and said,"Lord have
mercy on me."
As that squirrel mad laps inside her dress she began to
cry and then to confess, to sins that would make a
sailor blush with shame. She told of gossip, and church
desention, but thing that got the most attention was when
she told of her Love Life and then she Started naming names.

CHORUS

VERSE 3

Well seven Deacons and then the Pastor got saved, and
twenty-five thousand dollars got raised, and fifty
volunteered for missions in the Congo on the spot.
And even without an invitation there were at least
five hundred rededications, and we all got
rebaptized whether we needed it or not.
Now you've heard the Bible stories I guess of how he parted
the waters for Moses to pass. Oh the Miracles, God has
wraught in this old world. But the one I'll remember till my
dying day is when He put that church back on the narrow way
with a half crazed Mississippi squirrel.

CHORUS (x2)
