ANCHORAGE Only weeks after starring in the Animal Planet documentary "Stranger Among Bears," a retired Anchorage schoolteacher has been charged with 20 counts of illegally feeding game.

So as we watch the last episode, Charlie Vandergaw touched my heart, and along with everyone else in my family, I wiped away a tear.
Charlies wife had passed on, so 20 years ago he purchased some land and built a summer home to live with the bears. He has watch over 15 bears grow up.
You could hear his passion, and his effection/love for those big hairy creatures.
Although I understand the law of feeding wild animals, sometimes I think the cops outta leave things as they are.
