I was wondering if there was anyone here who lives in the extremely rainy Pacific NW who has done straw bale gardening. I tried it in Colorado but it was SO dry and hot there that it didn't work well at all. I would think that the rain we get here (I'm in Oregon) would be ideal for straw bale gardening. If anyone up here has tried it, I'd love to hear how it went for you.

Haven't tried it but plan on it this spring. Our soil is just to rocky and full of clay here. The garden didn't do to well for it's first year. I'm going to till and put down some bales. I have plenty of chicken litter to add to some soil on them. By the time I can get them set up, falls clean out should be ready to plant stuff in.
