Sufficient Self's Bible Study Group

Im not liking it well and Im afraid our study is suffering over it......

I know we aren't supposed to have favorites or dislikes in the Bible as it is all the word of God....but some authors in the Bible are easier to digest than others. Ecclesiastes is alright but I must confess it isn't my fave. :P

I like best to discuss today's events or happenings around us that have Biblical applications. I learn better when I actually apply the material....sort of like milking a cow to learn how because the books just can't give you the right FEEL for it.

Sometimes I think that is why no one likes the Sunday school or Bible study at my church....its just a teacher telling you something about what you've read. No real interaction or practical application....just like the public school systems.

To engage people and help them to learn, teachers need to ask questions that involve the student in the learning process. Anything else is just dry material that must be labored through..... :/

I haven't posted anything because I haven't known what to say.... I am starting to find it a little confusing. :hide

I like Ecclesiates, but my studies have been going elsewhere as of late and I haven't commented because I am not focusing well on Ecclesiastes. I read the material, but really can't seem to find comment worthy of ya'lls attention :hu I like some of the things others have had to say, and I am lurking lately rather than posting ;) Ecclesiastes just seems one of those books that has it's place and time, but for me, is not right now, though early on it was very pertinent to me. I'm bouncing through the bible right now...Genesis to John...so mine is lack of focus :P Sorry I'm not more actively studying with you all.....

Perhaps bouncing around is a good way to keep everyones attention. It is not as efficient, but perhaps efficiency isn't as important as learning.
