1c dry instant milk
2/3 c sugar
1/3 c boiling water
3T melted butter

Blend until smooth. Refrigerate. Makes same amount as one can.

I used this in making seven layer cookies and couldn't tell the difference.

[I used it immediately and it smelled odd, but perhaps the smell would change if refrigerated.]

Hoosier,
Thanks for posting this recipe. This sure will be cheaper to make verses buying sweetened condensed milk.

Thanks for the recipe, but especially the review. I've seen recipes for making this, but never knew if it would work good.

Seven layer bars are always a favorite here and would be a good "test" for this new recipe.

Thanks for the recipe! Nice to be able to have the sweetened, condensed milk without the additives.
