Our local farmstand has apples for 49c at the moment. If they do as they did last year then in the next couple of weeks they will start selling by the box (last year it was around 25c/lb if I remember correctly). Of course, I filled the shelves with applesauce last year, so probably don't need another box.

Our fruitsands are all closed around here,even when they are open it is hard to find a good deal,most of the stands are in an area that is highly traveled by tourist. so the prices reflect that.
I tried to find a U-Pick orchard this year but couldn't. I thought with the hard time orchardist were having getting picking crews that there would be good deals on u-pick, but those low prices never appeared, the farmers who couldn't get the fruit picked just left it to freeze and rot. That way they get to claim insurance on the the crop. What a waste!!
