Ohiogoatgirl, why not just make your sections smaller?

I plan on having very small sections for some of the veggies and to plant more in a few weeks. In prior years, everything ripened all on the same day practically. I'd like to eat a lot of it fresh so I don't want 20 zucs all in one day.
We usually can more than we can eat. Zucchini pickles, relish, .....

ps:
i'm addicted to this site now... :caf it's all i do! well, thats what dad says. really i don't get on for very long but i read all the new posts... i'm just in love with it :love

So for this contest.....

If its harvested in 2011 it counts right? Does it matter if it went in in 2010?

:D

I picked these today, there are more but I only pull them when I need them. :clap

pretty carrots!
i planted carrots last summer... none came up so the row kinda went to the weeds... :( and then i was digging it over at the end of the season and i got two little carrots... both about 1&1/2 inches long... they were supposed to be 7-8 inch carrots :(
but they went to seed there and everything got turned over so maybe mom will find a whole slew of carrots next summer! :idunno

I use raised beds with pretty light soil. They lend themselves to some nice carrots.

Over the past couple years I have learned a lot about carrots. I have to be diligent about thinning then just leave them alone. Oh, and don't show them to the dog. He steals them right out of the bed. :D I plant in succession, usually about 4 ft square at a time. It's nice to have these now. I think they went in the end of Sept.

i'm doing a seed test on my green bell pepper seeds... i've had them at least two years and of course i didn't label them so i don't know when i saved them... and i'm thinking they are from a store bought pepper so they may not come up at all... i hate when i do that :he
i have two pumpkin plants in the window... they are already about two feet long! and it's only january, but i don't wanna kill them...:barnie i want spring!!!
and i have a mystery plant. i dug up some bulbs from an old flower bed and put them in a pot in my window. they are growing good but i don't know what they are yet... i'm waiting for them to flower :pop

I with you. For once this winter, you central Ohio Buckeyes are going to get more snow that us lake-effect Buckeyes. But we all get to share in the sub-zero wind chills.
*sigh*
