I just re-read my post and I hope it did not sound like I was against cloth diapers!! Just three in any kind of diapers at once!

After making the switch to cloth feminine products, I can imagine what it must feel like to a baby to have a lovely cloth diaper on all the time. Aaaaaahhhh, so soft!

My older friends who I helped make the switch to cloth are raving about the difference.

But you do what you can and splurge when it keeps you sane! (relatively..... )

Well, I do have cloth diapers here, but they are no where near thick or soft! We've even washed them. DH said he wouldn't want it on his butt, so no way will I be putting them on the baby's butt.

Hmm I wonder if I found some soft pieces of flannel and made my own....

There are free patterns online, I saw them once when researching feminine stuff. I use quilter's flannel from Joann's because it is so thick and seems like I will never need to make pads again....well, later, maybe, tinkle pads! But I don't use the PUL for myself, and would want that in the tinkle pads anyways.

Some use synthetic fleece, but I have fleece yoga pants that I live in except when it gets even a little warmer. They make me feel sweaty even if I'm not. But warm in the winter.

Guess you don't want the competition from an innocent mod like myself with a tiny garden patch.

I bet my garden patch is smaller... LOL... Its a patio garden.. But I do my best with what I have..

But I did grow carrots, peas, potatoes.. Among a few other things that I dont remember right now.. It was a test run last year to see if certain kinds would work in pots..

Making the most of where you are and what is available is exactly what this forum is all about.

Homemaker, don't be too impressed....I'm running a boot camp for non-motivated young men right now, thus getting lots of things done in the name of "helping" them find a purpose in life...by creating an extreme desire to get out of my house and fund a life of their own!

Well I acquirred 2 pairs of boots for dd in sizes 10 & 12 1/2 last week, right now she wears a 8 1/2. Ds#1's gf bought her the size 10 @ a local western store that is going out of business for 40% off(ropers) & the other pair was given by a friend from the homeschool group so we have boots for later that I do not have to buy. Plus we got more socks from the friend too(I don't need to buy socks for at least 3 yrs). I have 18lbs of spaghetti noodles too now.

Squirrel Challenge task #1 complete:

Built shed to store hay for pending sheep. ( Have also talked to the local feed store about buying 50# of sea kelp for supplements for said sheep.) Approx. cost of shed: $65 using seconds lumber at $20 a bundle, new treated 4x4s and 2x4s, nails and recycled tin roofing.

Side note: Will score approx. truckload of free canning jars later on this week or the next. I don't know where I will put them all, but I will welcome them with open cellar!

Started buying canning lids and rings with each shopping trip.

All seeds are purchased and will be planted and placed under grow lamps this weekend.

Seven new laying pullets purchased to replace the ones to be culled this weekend(they were a good deal and couldn't be passed up~$6 ea.), 10 more eggs under a new broody and a possible other broody may start sitting a clutch.

Next week will be the purchase of solar fence charger, wire and insulators.

We are up for the challenge. We are starting from scratch as we just moved in to our place in December. Seeds are bought and started, just have to till up the garden area 65'x35'. 17 rhode island red chicks now 2 weeks old. 60 broiler chicks 1 week old. 2 peach trees, 2 apple trees, 2 pear trees on order.
