The Trout Pond - Chicks, Chicks & more chicks

We used to go camping up in the Ocala National Forest every spring, 'bout this time of year, before it got real hot.. we also went to Micanopy for the week-end 2-3 times can't remember. We'd go driving around SR301, looking at horse farms, and all I can say is WOW!!! I wish I could afford just the fencing and gates!!

Our weekend place is in the Ocala National Forest, practically across the street from the Salt Springs camp ground. Love it out there, but it does get hot in the summer! We spend many hours during the summer just standing around in the waist-deep spring water keeping cool.

Sadly, many of the horse farms around Ocala have sold out to developers and are no more. :( I can remember when there were still horse farms right in the city limits. You have to do some driving now to get to them.

Gleno, You'll get there!! we just walked in on it. The only thing we've done inside the barn is the chicken and rabbit rooms, the goat side of the barn was all set up, not sure what they raised, I'm thinking dairy by other things we've found in there.

The last time we were camping there, a small herd of wild hogs just wandered into our camp, we were up there w/ 6-8 couples, had a couple of campers, multple tents. It was redneck heaven, a couple of guys brought a couplee couches, and just sat them out by the fire, we were sitting around having a couple of "adult beverages" and we were like, WTH!!! a sow and 4-5 piglets, and the game was ON!!! dogs barking beer cans flying, tents dumped over, it was a RIOT for about 3-4min. Then it was like looking around a storm site :ep
