I don't think it will help with any odor. Baking soda is used a lot, vinegar, too. Here's a link that will help:

This is what I love about threads it leads to different paths. I usally just break down and buy pet stain remover.

I have found non-GMO cornstarch. Costs a bit more, but worth it! Cool ideas!

For pet stains. Product called EEwwwww
from Tractor Supply Store.

OMG! It takes ANY stain out of your carpet in seconds. Unbelievable great stuff. Smells great also.
