When you follow this thread on BYC: I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! and go to the butchery and enquire about those free range duck eggs on the counter...

Future Khaki Campbell duck owner here lol The butcher loved the idea of me trying to hatch them and refused to let me pay for the eggs :) Now, let's hope these guys play along and produce some duckies!

Sumi, could you tell if those duck eggs were washed when you bought them?
They weren't. I wiped the worst of the dirt off them before putting them in the incubator. I know people say you shouldn't wash them, but I'm not putting crap into a warm, humid environment with those expensive shipped eggs I bought! And I wash my hands before handling the eggs.

Most of the time it doesn't end well :( I'm not sure what is going on in there, so I'll keep an eye on the egg and see how things go and :fl
