Tomato "breeding" gone right

I would be interested to see the inside of one of those humungous tomatoes.
I have some pretty big Roma's coming this year. Hopefully they get a chance to ripen before frost. I like Roma's better because they are meatier.
I have a couple of hybrid beefeaters that are pretty huge also. Can't wait to see how they are inside when they are ripe.

How is the flavor in those? Grandad used to raise "Big Boy" and they got very large. One slice covered a piece of bread. He also saved seed year to year. Back then you pretty much had to as there wasn't a WalMart on every corner -- heck, they didn't even have corners! :D

Many no longer save seed, sadly. It's not only an expense thing but, your plants do tend to develop traits that work within your own grow zone. Of course, if hybrid you may not get same next season from your own seed.

Seeds can be costly. I've spent a fair share at heirloom seed sites. Worth it later but, up front is more than stores.
