we have a vacant lot with an unused field and a forest with maple trees. What can i do with that lot to make some money? I made maple syrup before, so mabye a small scale operation and sell by word of mouth? I have a garden there, so grow strawberries and make jam? Raise meat chickens? I need ideas please. Keep in mind that this is to be small scale. thanks in advance.

How big is the lot and do you own it? Are you looking for a hobby type thing that you might be able to make a bit of money from?

Do you own this land?

How about
--laying hens
--meat birds
--turkeys for Thanksgiving (maybe a bit late for this year) or geese for Christmas
--hives for honey and other products of the hive (soap, lip balm, candles, etc.)
--garden for CSA or market sales
--definitely the maple syrup!

Check out the licensing requirements for your state. Maybe you could sell canned foods like jams, jellies, salsa, chutneys, etc.
