In the big batch of jars I got yesterday, there is one I have never seen before, and cannot find online. Maybe someone can help.

Picture778.jpg

It looks to be three cups, not four. And on the bottom it says: Garden Walk all purpose mason jar by Ball. The numeral 7, and Made in the USA.

The color of the outline is yellow.

I have entered all manner of search parameters, but I haven't received a good response. Can someone help?

Edited to fix link.

Wow, great link. I needed that.

Ldy, I find those odd shape jars were originally sold with something in them.. Then save by the owner to reuse. Maybe it was a jam jar to start with.

Thanks for the links. I am on break now, will check them out later on today.

Yep...canning some smoked beef sausage right now. Hillshire Farms, expires Jun 1, six sausages in a package on clearance at WinCo for 99 cents ! I got 5.

After that, potatoes.

I am also making a baked zucchini casserole (grated squash, onion, chese, eggs, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper). This was the reason I planted zukes to sdtart with ! Am harvesting a dozen squash a day...and loving it !

Thise are some cool sites, thanks for posting.

I hope you find more info on that jar Ldychef2k. Wouldn't it be too cool, if it was worth some real money? :fl

Well, I found a collector's website specific to Ball mason jars, and only one picture anywhere on the internet so far. That one had black graphics. The most current comments were from 2007, and they mentioned that it was one of the top two rare jars. Which means it is probably worth about $5 !!! Others are going for $1.25.

Can't retire on it, but hey---it's a fun search !

Did not know you could do that, sounds much better than freezing. How do you "can" a smoked sausage? what kind of shelf life do you get?

BtW I get the Johnsonville ones 6@$4 and are only good for 2 months unopened. I will have to check the other stores but only have 3 grocers in my driving range.
