To my earlier post, I can add a skill I made my first venture into. Last month I butchered my first deer. It wasn't pretty, but it's a start. I also salted the hide real well and after we get out of this teens and single digit weather, I need to clean it better and make my first attempt at tanning.

Cool! When I was a teenager, I stretched and scraped a goat kid skin and put it out to dry.....leaning up against the barn. Someone left me the boards licked clean the next morning! Shoulda hung it up high....no internet back then!

I know how to find and cure water suitable for drinking without tablets

I can build a fire without matches

I know how to identify food and medicinal plants

I can fish

I have no idea how to hunt, but it's a skill I'm working on! Also, learning basic carpentry skills so I can create shelter.
