Wannabefree...guess what I got in the mail today!?!?!?!?

I don't mean this as "bashing" so please don't take it that way... but isn't there some way to keep the dogs separate from the chickens? Bird dog or no, a predator will most often go after squawky flappy prey. My Lab is great with the chickens - my EE hen I had used to get on his back to be closer to treats. Please notice I said "HAD".... she got over the fence, dogs unsupervised and she was killed. I just hate to see a family lose their dog / a dog lose it's family over something preventable ;)

Well we can, and we currently are, but we don't want to keep her chained in the front to be outside enjoying the nice weather. She hates it. We hate it. We'd rather see her go to a good home, than have to live at the end of the chain every time we have to go somewhere or just to go outside to play. Pitbulls are extrememly social dogs, and chaining them in my experience is a huge no no. They get unmanageable. We love her, so IF we can find her a good home we feel good about letting her go to that would offer more than we can currently give....for her sake, she's gone.

I didn't take it as bashing at all ;)

Roger that! Totally agree a chicken-less home is better for her than life on a chain!

:)
