I have been doing this little farming bit for about 3-4 years now. Recently met a guy on this road that has decided to do the same after several visits to my place. The difference is, he has money...apparently enough to just jump up and buy about 20 acres with tractors and everything :hu Now he will be selling a lot of the same produce as I will be selling this year. Did I just create my own competition?! :lau
Only if he sells at a loss...his overhead is higher!
Yeah. I hope I haven't created a monster  He brought his kids and mother by today to see all the critters. They're nice people, but he bought chickens from me a couple years ago, and then couldn't keep them alive and had bad hatch rates. He's a young guy...in a way I hope he makes it work for him, but then....it may be putting me out of business too, so I kinda have mixed feelings. It's weird.
No, you're looking at wrong, sis. He makes the investment, falls short, then needs someone to manage his business. ;)

I thought about that too. I just want us both to succeed. :hu It's strange, he asks me for advice all the time :hu

It'll be fine. There will be enough to go around....you may end up helping him with his enterprise. Then you will be able to split profit somehow. Who knows :hu

I dunno...I don't really want to help oversee that much unless it's mine :P

It's nice to be able to "go home at night" and leave work there. Oh wait, what the heck am I talking about? :gig

yep, I know, even on the bad days you do!

Just ran outside, the lettuce and spinach are up.

Cool! Can't wait till my beans and peas are up :D

Our onions, and strawberries are doing excellent! Along with my new blackberry patch, and I can't wait for my peas to sprout either :D

I have some early peas planted. More once I get the other gardens tilled up.
