I hate storms! Never bothered me when I was younger, but then I moved to TX. Seemed every time it stormed there, a tornado touched down somewhere in it (reminds me of that line in 'It's A Wonderful Life': Every time a storm comes, a tornado touches down ). No safe places to go there either. Now, all these eons later, I still panic/tense up when a storm rolls in

I got the spare bedroom cleaned up, got the shelves situated, got the jars of canned goods organized, got a backache.... I'm done for the day. Steak and texas toast with baked potatoes for dinner.

I lost 41 quarts of tomatoes I had canned up :/ Pig will eat good. Oh well...too tired to be very aggravated at the moment anyway. Live and learn.

The neighbor came home from the hospital today, and he is as ornery as ever!!!!!!

Cindi, how did you know the tomatoes went Bad? I know it sounds nosey, but I am getting ready to try my hand at canning and tomatoes are on my list to try.

If tomatoes go bad, you'll know. There will be no doubt, because they will unseal themselves and smell very fermented and strong. Tomatoes are the easiest thing in the world to can, but you have to be really really careful to NOT miss the least little bad spot or it will ruin the entire batch. I knew not to do such a big batch while I was tired, but I did, and am paying for it. Thankfully the pig will properly dispose of them for me I may not have sauce, but I'll have bacon from those tomatoes, so it doesn't bother me so bad. Just do be careful when canning yours!!

Ever have one of those days that everything just seems to be falling apart? Or your friends who you always listen to are not there when you need someone to listen to you? Or you have a bunch of food in your pantry, representative of a lot of hard work, but ammounts to a bunch of rotten tomatoes in the end? *sigh* Mother nature hates me today too....I think I might just go to bed. Everything I own hurts anyway. Poo.
