Pinky I liked the rhodebars as well, but the legbars were just too cute! Your dad will get whatever he wants. I don't really have a "dad", so I can spoil him instead
Buffy that's awesome kid! WOOT!!!
moolie, I wish we could meet too! I think a big get together would be the awesomest, between all of us SS folks!!
I didn't get very far on the coop. There was a bunch of things piled on top of all the necessary material, and DH had ALL the dang tools, mine included, so I had no choice but to wait. I scoured the internet for designs while I (impatiently) waited. We just got the materials home, and found DD's old bunny had passed away

He was such a good boy too. Good breeder, FAST, and reliable. Literally 2 seconds, and you could count on him having done a good job. DH is out there burying him now. He went out fast, about 4 or 5 days, so not a lot of suffering, but he had gotten so very skinny, and I am glad he went quickly. Gonna miss the little guy

He was the very first bunny on the farm....
Anyway. I guess tomorrow morning I will get all the materials laid out, cut and start building. I think I am going with an ark type tractor for these guys, SUPER secure, and large enough to house a dozen, but max out at 8 to make sure they have plenty of space. I have found that to be the key to healthy birds when confined to a coop type area. Of course, it will be moved daily, and cleaned often, but still. I have plenty of supplies left over for the build, possibly enough to build two. If I have enough for two, I will get the Dels squared away in one as well...something I should have done 3 years ago. Then I can have the pure breeds and a mutt or guinea layer flock for our eggs. We like guinea eggs, as that is technically the first birds we had.
