so we have two bat houses attached to our house, the painter want to remove to see if there is wood damage behind the bat houses,

I am not sure that is safe,

I don't want anyone getting rabies from bats waking up

what should I do,
leave the bat house and paint around them?

is it safe to paint around them should we cover the houses with something cause I don't want a bat coming out and potentially making my painter sick

please advise

thanks!

The problem w/painting them now is there may be young bats in there. And, you don't want to disturb them. Your best bet is to wait until they've gotten old enough to fly-which is typically late summer. And, the best time of day to do any work to that area is in the evening-when the bats have come out to hunt insects.
