Can anyone suggest a book on weaving on build-able primitive looms? A book on building the primitive looms?
I am interested in anything I weave for the homestead, from cloth to blankets to area rugs.

LOL I'll pretty much be repeating my post on fleece... but I know quite a few people who spin on medieval looms ;)

I have a SMALL primative loom, more for spinning trims and belts. If you lived near me I'd have people to introduce you to who would be happy to teach but not sure who is in any other area.

The medieval group has yahoo groups in every area dedicated to all kinds of activities, you might be able to find some really good information on primitive weaving through them. They're always my go to resource for anything primitive like this.

The people in my area built their own looms and do some amazing work :D

ETA: found a guild link!! Caer Galen Textile Guild ... it lists the yahoo group too :D
We DO have a SCA group very locally!!! Thanks for suggesting them, they never came to my mind, but should have. :D
