Peach tree a buzz starting to bloom. I have a rather fond affection for honey bees.

Those blooms are looking good. I love a tree ripe peach. It's like an entirely different world from those store fakes. You've worked hard on your orchard & it's payback time. You got a nice harvest from first fruiting last yr, should be over the top this yr

How's your asparagus bed going? That was a from seed, just started project. Should be some to cut this yr.

Thanks for the kind words — they mean a lot! You’re absolutely right: there’s no comparison between a sun-warmed, tree-ripened peach and just about anything you’ll find in a grocery. I think that’s why orchards are so popular around here. Last year’s harvest was just a taste of what’s possible — and this year? Hard work and learning still pay off, especially when you get to share it with folks who appreciate the real thing.

I was going to post about the asparagus but didn’t want to come across as braggy — but since you asked, thank you! Growing from seed is definitely the long game… but it’s finally starting to pay off. This week, I’ve been cutting and eating the spears raw as they pop up — they’re delicious! So rewarding to watch a perennial bed establish itself, knowing it’ll keep giving for years to come. Here’s a picture of the very first spear of the season — for you.

We DO APPRECIATE your work & sharing. Not all of us can have everything we would like but, sharing helps the crave. Plus the learning curve. If we lived close, I'd be trading fresh milk for fresh peaches!! might sneak a few spears of asparagus too. I've got cheese for it.
