Like last year the M111 air-layering rootstock source and granny smith are the first apples to flower and pollinate eachother. Granny has showy blooms. These are my favorite flowers because they can give rise to fruit

I have two spots open in my cherry rows and am looking for an old, unique, self-pollinating variety. I’ve been eyeing Fedco’s English Morello - anyone have experience with it? I’ve never grown it, and don’t know anyone who has.

That said, I may just stick with two more Montmorency - since they’re thriving here and growing like weeds. Not all cherry varieties do. I can't keep a black tartarian alive past the first growing season.

Heirloom tip-bearing apples are strange - how are those branches supposed to hold clusters of fruit at their tips? Stranger things have happened, I reckon. This one’s called King David.

That last picture shows just how big that orchard is What a beautiful thing. Variety & a lot of trees. Do you have hives yet? Another job! But if a neighbor has them, you're golden.
