What did you do to save $ today?

I'm trying a new strategy for grocery shopping which includes only buying items from the current week flyer or items from Aldis.

I hit Kroger and Meijer, bought only from their sales flyer and used these awesome free coupons Kroger sent me and only spent $88!! Thant includes a "splurge" on a cheap bottle of vodka to spice up the raspberry lime rickeys I made!!

Not bad for a family of 5...I think!!!:hu

I saved money for someone else today by cleaning out my son's toy closet. DH is on his way to Good Will with 2 complete train sets, a grocery bag full of leggo's and another one full of lincoln logs. Also a box full of toy cars, trucks and farm machines, and another with assorted toys. The house feels so much lighter!

Now - on to his clothes closet and dresser!!

Orrrr... maybe tomorrow. I think I'll go get a cup of coffee.
I always wanted a set of Lincoln Logs. Wish I could get to that thrift shop to pick them up.

Our mattress pad was getting a little ratty after 8 years and I was going to go on-line and look at a new one. For some reason the thought of turning cuffs and collars popped into my mind. It isn't meant to be flipped because the seams are out but I don't know why I couldn't, it gets covered with a sheet.

So, new mattress pad good for another 8 years or so by flipping it over. :woot

went to the store in town that sells used washers and stuff. I went in to get a washer. I have been there alot to buy stuff in the past. The owner sold me a front load washer for $200, because he claims that it is too loud and cant sell it. Well it is a lot quiter than my last one so we are both happy. For $200 I got a washer that is 2 years old and sells for $1000 new.

Way to go on the washer! I love mine even tho it is a bit loud, but the jiggling the whole 103 year old house during the final spin did take some getting used to!:lau
