Cheepo,

Hang around here, read, read, read. Ask questions.

I am new here too. There is a wealth of knowledge here.

Hi Dave...agree..I am hooked...

ok ...something I hadn't know....
easy peasy cream cheese...

Love making cream cheese that way. I have a strainer that fits PERFECTLY in the top of a 2 gallon glass jar that I have. So I just line it with cheesecloth, and then let it sit (covered of course!)
Plus, the by product is Whey, which is EXTREMELY useful, too! (can't believe that isn't mentioned in the recipe!!)

Next time I make yogurt from dry milk I will use a portion of that for cream cheese and report back how it works. If I buy a big thing of yogurt at my store it costs $3-4 so if I make it from the dry milk, it is more cost effective to me. I saved the recipe!

For those of you who make your yogurt with dry milk I pulled up this thread from out of the past. Its long, and it goes off topic occasionally, but the information (even the OT info) is interesting, and may be new to some our newer members. I just finished reading through it, and recommend that you take the time to read it through. For more information on the same subject just do a search on "dry milk".
