Speaking of my cat..

I was making up feed for the horses at the counter and then I heard the familiar clicking of the propane stove lighting a burner... and noticed Accio had lit a burner on the stove and was now standing on the griddle that burner was going to heat.

SIGH, he's trying to kill us you know.
My 2 cats tossed 3 hay bales down off the trailer and right in front of the rabbit cages. Who are they trying to kill? :gig
Oh it gets better, one of the dogs let off the valve on our air compressor for the nail gun and that scared the poo out of the cat who went off at highspeed. Not, however, before running on the spot for a few minutes on my brothers hand.

He's way too good at this killing and/or injuring stuff.

27 ducks - blue Swedes, buffs, Muscovies, Pekins, a Runner, Dom. Mallard, Welsh Harls, a Silver Appleyard and mix
10 turkeys - wild strains, BR, RP, a white Holland and mix
2 peafowl - Blondie & Floyd, IB hen and Dark pied cock)
and about 200 chickens. Not sure on exact number but it is up around there.

No more horses, cattle, sheep, or pigs and we finally sold all the elk last year. I wouldn't mind some more pigs and a llama though.

Current count is:

24 chickens, including one nice roo and one really annoying and talkative roo. Various breeds inc Ameracuna, Rhodie, Black Australorp and some mutts.

11 cats (shut up!) Most of the cats are nine years old or older, but doing really well. We're building a cattery in the spring so they can go outside without becoming coyote canapes.

A German Shepard/Aussie mix that looks like a Border Collie. She's about eight but still thinks she's a puppy. She's never chased a chicken in her life. Unfortunately, she also seems to think that she's a big ugly cat.

A cockatiel and his pet parakeet. We used to have two cockatiels but one died of extreme old age, so we got the parakeet to keep the other cockatiel from being lonely. The parakeet keeps the cockatiel in check!

We hope to get a couple nanny goats later this year, both for weed control and for milk.

That's not counting the ring neck pheasant that is oddly semi-tame and eats with the chickens when we throw them scratch.

Looking to add goats, maybe a couple ducks, an outdoor cat for pest control, and turkeys for eating.

We live in town so our list is kinda small

4 red sex link hens(had 8 but the dogs got 3 and one was egg bound and died)
3 dogs, 2 outside( basset hound, which is mine, and a german shepard mix which is Johns) and 1 inside(pomeranian my wifes)
2 goldfish(the kids) and 5 mussels John found at the lake

When I was a kid living in the country I had all kinds of wildlife for pets. A racoon, squirrels, an egret, pigeons, possums, turtles, snakes, lizards, a bobwhite quail, but my favorite was a one legged screech owl. We found him sitting by the chicken coop with his leg caught in the wire. He had almost torn it off trying to get free, and he ended up losing it. I built a cage off my bedroom window, and he got very tame, enough to ride on my shoulder. I kept him for years, feeding him strips of chicken, and the occasional mouse.
