From what I understand, he asked the questions and paraphrased their answers in each category...so this article was more than just one person's supposition but the predictions of the leaders in those fields.

Still kind of cool, huh? :D
Definitely a cool little document. And great fun to read... so thanks, again.

The overall tone is humanitarian and utopian, in a generally socialist vein. If I'm right in this assessment, it's inclination was perhaps more socialistic than the U.S. has wished to go. And, to be fair about where America has gone, a lot of 19th Century socialistic & utopian thinking did not see the complexities involved in the practical delivery of services and benefits, nor did it foresee many of the abuses of socialist/welfare systems that can occur in the real world.

I agree! Also, back then they could not imagine the price of all the advancements made in the world of agriculture, mass food production, etc. To them, any and all advancement that resulted in less work and time spent was considered a good thing. Same with all the technological advancement in our personal homes. I don't think they could imagine how all that would affect the environment, the quality of the foods, and the general health and fitness of the American people.
