WBF, just one question. W/getting chicks elsewhere, how much would you need to worry about disease? I keep thinking of lwheelr and the chicks that she got that basically wiped out her flock. And, if I remember correctly, she got hers from a hatchery.

Not a hatchery. I personally know this guy and his biosecurity practices, which I am aware can STILL make for issues, but so far, all of his are really clean, healthy stock, and if I ever got any that weren't, he's the type that would WANT to know so he could fix it. I trust him, and his stock. Even at that, my brooder for incoming birds, would be on the opposite side of my yard from my personal flock(about 100 yards away). I have thought about all of the angles.
