I'm sorry for you, but glad reading these that we live in a very wet low fire area. I dont think I have ever seen a wildfire more than about 15sq ft (ditch fire). Even when we have red flag days, its not very likely because "dry" for us is still wet, and we have alotnof rivers/streams.

The Way west PNW is a wet area, lots of ground water, rivers, and many have private wells-
but with no rain the soil drys quickly, forest undergrowth dries,
One lighting strike sets all the Cedar, Fir trees off fast-
A burn pile can get out of hand fast with one quick breeze-

Central Pierce county ends burn permits June first. They put out we will be stage 1 burn ban at that time.
