Who owns a Berkey water filtration system?

I would like to hear your opinions on this water filter system, I am looking for a countertop system for our kitchen since we received a letter in the mail saying our shared well water was tested and came up positive for bacteria (can't remember the name) What ticked me off is the letter came 3 months after the initial testing, gee would have been nice to know sooner as we drink that water

I am thinking of getting the 'Royal' model since it is on sale for the same price as the 'Big Berkey' Any thoughts?

I don't think that reference said they were outlawed, just that the Berkey people couldn't determine what was needed to be certified.
Under any circumstances, you can order them from a lot of different places who don't care where they send them.
I do have one but can't give any info on it as it just sits in storage for a "what if" situation happens. My water comes out of a creek and I need electricity for purification so wanted a back up if power goes out for weeks- which has happened.

We have the Big Berkey & totally love it!
We went for the stainless steel model over the plastic.
After having one for several years I wish we had bought a larger capacity Berkey.
The filters are simple to clean and last a long time. We bought a model that came with 2 filters but can easily add two more.
I haven't tried filtering a stagnant mud puddle yet but from the Berkey's performance I do believe it could do the job.

Awesome I just wanted to know if anyone or them. I ended up ordering one this morning as I found a company out of Colorado that offers the Royal which is one size up from the Big for the same price plus you could choose a free option upgrade which was 2 travel filter bottles, a shower filter or two fluoride and arsenic filters. That is a fantastic deal as far as I could tell from shopping around for them.
I ordered the stainless also, it just seems more healthy and timeless compared to the plastic model.
