i have 44 square wire dohickeys sortof like i have seen people make indoor cages out of. well i wanted to use them in quail cages. but as my quail dreams are being put on the back burner for a little while longer i havent done anything with them.
well right now i am making a list of things that i need to buy when i go to town tomorrow. so i wrote down zip ties (or cable ties, whatever ya wanna call em). thinkin that i could buy em and have em already for when i need to make the cages for the quail.
so here i am skimmin over the forum here and.... **SMACK** why didnt i think of that already?! i can use the square grid things to make a rabbit tractor! or at least certian parts of one.
so off to the drawing board with that and finish my list of things to buy :)

I hope she remembers that rabbits are known for their digging ability.

i have had each of my rabbits out in the tractors. the only one who dug at all was my dutch doe adult. she dug a little in the corners of the tractor. not much at all. just enough to get the grass out of the way and scratch the dirt. i will make sure to be extra watchful of her when i put her out again.
but since we have turkey vultures and i seen a few hawks before i wont leave the rabbits in the tractors unsupervised.

If you put a bottom in the cage you don't need to worry about the digging. This needs to be something with large holes like 2" x 2" or 2" x 4" squares. That way the grass will stick up through but the holes are too small for the rabbit to get out. Also I wouldn't use zip ties. Rabbits like to chew on plastic. They make metal clips for making rabbit cages or you can use wire and roll it tightly around the two parts you are joining with a pair of pliers.
